Cartagena Espresso is a deep, warm brown woven textile with a quietly graphic rhythm. Its surface is built from alternating vertical bars and stepped rectangular blocks, creating pattern through tone and texture rather than contrast.

About this fabric

The espresso colourway moves between near-black brown and softer coffee-brown threads, giving the ground visible depth as the light shifts across it. Narrow vertical ribs are interrupted by horizontal joins, forming a structured, gridded motif with a measured architectural feel. The close, substantial-looking weave makes this colourway particularly suited to upholstery, where its dark tone can give a chair, sofa or headboard a grounded presence. No performance features or further specification data were supplied for this fabric.

How to use it

Use Cartagena Espresso on a tailored sofa or occasional chair where its dark brown depth can anchor a room. Balance the geometric weave with warm timber, aged brass and lighter stone or oat tones so the pattern remains legible rather than disappearing into shadow.

A deep espresso ground and orderly block weave bring tailored texture to upholstered seating.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
