Barcombe Carnival

About this fabric

The swatch has a substantial-looking, closely textured weave, with fine vertical yarn definition visible throughout the irregular zigzags and rounded stripe motifs. Its palette leans warm, led by rust, terracotta and ochre, while slate blue and plum accents add cooler contrast. The repeated pattern is large and energetic, with the curved bands creating a sense of movement rather than a flat geometric grid. No composition, width, rub test or performance feature is supplied for this fabric.

How to use it

Use this colourway as upholstery for a statement armchair, headboard or occasional sofa where its rust-and-ochre warmth can lead the scheme. Pick out the muted blue in cushions or painted joinery, and keep surrounding surfaces simple so the undulating pattern remains the focal point.

Use this richly coloured woven pattern on a statement chair or sofa, balanced with quiet rust, blue or ochre plains.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
