Swale Spiced pairs a warm ivory ground with slender, irregular lines in rust, ochre, peach and soft terracotta. The drawn verticals wander and occasionally widen into delicate, organic diamond-like shapes.

About this fabric

The closely spaced linear motif gives this colourway a light, flowing appearance, while the warm spiced tones add definition against the pale ground. Rust and terracotta lines bring the deepest accents; ochre and peach threads soften the overall effect. No performance features are noted for this fabric. Its fine-looking, open-ground design is best read as a drapery cloth, where the vertical movement can extend across curtains or blinds.

How to use it

Use Swale Spiced at a window in a warm neutral room, pairing its ivory base with terracotta, ochre or pale timber accents. The fine vertical tracery can add height without making the scheme feel busy.

Use the warm ivory ground and rust, ochre and peach tracery to bring gentle colour and vertical movement to curtains or blinds.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
