About this fabric

The close view shows a small-scale woven texture rather than a printed motif, with fine horizontal lines running through the cloth and subtly raised pebbling visible across the folds. Its chalk-cream tone is soft and light, reading cooler and quieter than a deep beige while avoiding a stark white appearance. The substantial-looking weave holds sculptural folds, revealing alternating highlights and shadowed channels across the surface. This understated texture gives Birch Chalk a relaxed, considered finish for upholstery.

How to use it

Use Birch Chalk on a relaxed armchair, sofa or upholstered headboard where its pale chalk-cream colour can brighten the room without looking stark. Pair it with warm timber, natural fibres and softly contrasting taupe or stone accents to draw out the weave's gentle relief.

The pale chalk-cream tone and tactile woven surface bring quiet texture to upholstered seating and headboards.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
