About this fabric
The colour sits between beige and grey, with a gentle warmth that gives the plain surface depth rather than a flat block of colour. Subtle tonal flecks and a fine, even texture are visible across the swatch, while the absence of a printed design keeps the appearance calm and continuous. Weighing 300gsm and measuring 144cm usable width, Alvar Lark offers a versatile mid-weight handle for upholstery and drapery. With a 0cm vertical and horizontal pattern repeat, it can be cut without pattern matching; the standard length is 35m.
How to use it
Pair this warm taupe with chalky creams, natural timber and soft stone shades for a restrained, welcoming interior. Its quietly varied surface also works well on a larger upholstered piece or full-length curtains where the tonal texture can be seen in changing light.
Use this softly mottled taupe to bring quiet warmth to upholstery, curtains or coordinated room schemes.

Pairs well with
Alvar Lark is a quiet cloth, so it carries a pattern beside it: one of these on the curtains and this on the chair. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it
Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
