About this fabric

The colour has a calm, slightly mineral quality: a balanced teal rather than a bright turquoise, with fine tonal variation visible throughout the weave. At 418gsm, the cloth has the substantial handle expected of a heavier woven suitable for upholstery. It has a 143cm usable width and a 30m standard length, while the supplied pattern data gives a 3cm horizontal repeat and no vertical repeat. The restrained surface texture keeps the design visually quiet while giving larger upholstered areas more depth than a completely flat solid.

How to use it

Use Rowland Teal on a generous armchair, sofa or dining seat where its cool blue-green depth can anchor warm wood, pale stone and soft ivory. It also works well as a measured contrast against rust, ochre or brushed brass accents.

Use this cool blue teal as a composed upholstery shade, pairing its softly heathered surface with warm timber or quiet neutrals.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
