Eternal Charcoal

Origins FabricCCF0483-01

Eternal Charcoal pairs a cool, deep charcoal ground with flowing ivory botanical sprigs. The fine crosshatched weave remains visible beneath the pale foliage, giving the colourway a tactile, gently weathered depth.

About this fabric

This 308 gsm Clarke & Clarke fabric has a useable width of 138 cm and a 40 m standard length. Its ivory branches, leaves and small berry-like details form a balanced 23 cm vertical by 23 cm horizontal repeat. Against the charcoal ground, the botanical drawing reads softly rather than starkly, with the woven texture tempering the contrast. The mid-weight handle makes it suitable for both upholstery and drapery.

How to use it

Use Eternal Charcoal to bring a cool, grounded botanical layer to a reading chair, bench or full-length curtain. Pair its ivory foliage with chalky whites, pale stone and darker charcoal accents to reinforce the restrained contrast.

A cool charcoal ground and softly contrasting ivory foliage bring a refined botanical note to upholstery, curtains and cushions.

Pairs well with

A pattern needs somewhere for the eye to rest, so these are the plains and textures that sit beside Eternal Charcoal without fighting it. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
