Orso Mer

Orso FabricM4114-14

Orso Mer is shown here as a near-black, ink-rich blue with a very quiet, understated surface. The colour reads deep and cool, with only the faintest softening in the weave.

About this fabric

This colourway of Orso Mer is a 100% cotton fabric, approximately 138cm wide, with no visible repeat, which gives the swatch a clean, uninterrupted look. The finish appears matte and tightly woven, allowing the dark blue tone to sit almost black in low light while still revealing a subtle blue cast. Its smooth, even face and restrained texture make it feel refined rather than rustic. The care code Q 8 < T 3 and fire code √CM are part of the supplied specification for this exact fabric.

How to use it

This dark blue works beautifully as a grounding accent on a sofa, ottoman or dining chair, especially with pale woods, bronze, or chalky neutrals. It can also create a cocooning curtain where a deep, low-sheen colour is wanted to frame the room.

Use for tailored upholstery or elegant drapes where a very dark, understated finish is wanted.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
