Mandarin Bleu de Chine

Ondine FabricM4153-03

Mandarin Bleu de Chine shows the Ondine design as a layered scenic print in soft indigo blue on an ivory ground. The pagodas, bridges and trees read crisp and decorative, with the linen base giving the pattern a relaxed, slightly chalky finish.

About this fabric

This colourway is printed on 100% linen and has an approximate width of 136cm with a large repeat of V 93cm / H 136cm, so the design has room to breathe across curtains or statement soft furnishings. The palette is cool and refined: washed blues, inky linework and pale neutral ground, with touches of muted gold detailing that lift the pagoda roofs without making the overall effect feel bright. The linen texture softens the scenery and keeps the surface from looking flat, giving the print a quietly artisanal character. Care code Q 8 + T 3 and fire code √BM are supplied for this fabric.

How to use it

Use it where the blue-and-ivory contrast can be seen from a little distance, such as full-height drapes or a feature blind. It works especially well with painted whites, pale stone and darker timber for a calm, collected scheme.

Pair with pale lacquer, natural linen and dark wood to let the indigo temple motif stand out.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
