Evangeline Charcoal

Rivera FabricJ0211-02

Evangeline Charcoal sets a dense botanical pattern against a deep charcoal background, giving the design a moody, graphic feel. The layered leaves and stems bring flashes of teal, ochre, moss and rust across the surface.

About this fabric

This colourway reads as a cool, dark charcoal with vivid multi-coloured foliage scattered across it, so the pattern feels crisp rather than soft-focus. The 60% linen, 30% cotton and 10% polyamide composition gives it a natural, slightly textured look that suits a tailored upholstered finish. With an approximate width of 140cm and a repeat of V 63cm / H 70cm, the design has a substantial scale that lets the leaf forms show clearly. The blackened ground makes the lighter teal, sage and ochre details stand out sharply, while the rustier accents add depth and warmth.

How to use it

Pair this charcoal colourway with walnut, burnished brass and plain linen to keep the look grounded. It works especially well on accent seating, where the dark ground helps the foliage palette feel jewel-like.

Use on a statement chair or banquette to let the vivid foliage lift the charcoal ground.

Pairs well with

A pattern needs somewhere for the eye to rest, so these are the plains and textures that sit beside Evangeline Charcoal without fighting it. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
