Hugo Blue

Tarn FabricF4802-05

Hugo Blue reads as a softly faded blue-grey with a breezy, linen-like character and fine woven texture. The small-scale linear pattern gives the swatch a calm, lightly striated surface rather than a bold statement.

About this fabric

Hugo Blue from the Tarn collection by Colefax and Fowler is a 141cm approx wide fabric with a composition of 37% viscose, 22% linen, 18% cotton, 14% polyester, 4% wool, 3% polyamide and 2% acrylic. The weave shows a delicate, closely worked texture with tiny horizontal banding and a subtle zigzag effect that catches the light without looking shiny. In this colourway, the blue is very soft and diffused, sitting between powder blue and cool grey with a muted, misted finish. That gentle tone makes the pattern feel airy and refined rather than graphic. The fire code is √BM and the care code is Q 8 < T 3.

How to use it

Use it where you want a light, polished blue that won’t dominate: on an upholstered occasional chair, headboard or Roman blind. It pairs especially well with chalk white, pale oak and brushed nickel for a fresh, understated scheme.

A cool, quietly textured blue that works well on clean-lined upholstery or softly tailored curtains.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
