About this fabric

Carnforth Silver from the Tarn collection by Colefax and Fowler is a 139cm-wide fabric with a subtle, almost chalky silver-grey finish. The weave shows fine vertical slubbing and a softly irregular texture, giving the cloth a natural, pared-back feel rather than a flat solid. Its composition of 41% viscose, 40% linen, 11% cotton, 5% acrylic and 3% polyester helps explain the slightly crisp, dry-looking handle visible in the image. With a repeat of V 0cm / H 0cm approx, the design presents as an understated plain that relies on texture and tone for interest. It is finished with care code Q 8 + T 3 and fire code √BM.

How to use it

Use this cool silver grey to soften tailored upholstery, or as a calm drapery fabric in rooms with pale timber, painted joinery or stone finishes. Its restrained sheen and woven depth keep it feeling crisp rather than stark.

A quietly refined silver grey that works beautifully across upholstery and curtains.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
