CEL4064 is a cool charcoal slate-grey chenille with a finely mottled, crosshatched surface. Its subtle tonal variation gives the plain-looking ground more depth as the light moves across the weave.

About this fabric

Woven from 100% polyester, this 138cm-wide chenille is specified for both contract and domestic upholstery. The dense surface combines smoky grey, blue-grey and darker charcoal threads, creating a softly weathered texture rather than a printed motif. Its restrained colour and fine horizontal-vertical texture give upholstered pieces a smart, contemporary character without becoming stark black. It is machine washable, has domestic cigarette-and-match flame retardancy, and can be treated to Crib 5 contract grade.

How to use it

Pair the cool charcoal tone with pale oak, brushed metal and chalky neutrals for a crisp modern scheme, or use it to ground softer blue-grey and muted green accents. The fine woven texture works particularly well on clean-lined sofas, occasional chairs and upholstered headboards.

Use this cool charcoal chenille to give sofas, dining chairs and headboards a quietly tailored, architectural finish.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
