Stage Door

Stage Door is a grounded red-brown from Coat Paints, with enough depth to feel composed and enough warmth to avoid reading harsh. It sits well in rooms where you want colour that feels settled rather than bright.

About this colour

This shade reads as a warm, muted red with brown and wine-like depth, and the hex value #7C3C41 gives it a dark, absorbed look on the wall. In north-facing light it can turn cooler and more restrained, bringing out the brown notes and making the colour feel quieter. In south-facing light the red comes forward, so it appears richer, softer, and more obviously warm. On woodwork it gives a defined, traditional line, and beside natural linens, mossy greens, walnut, dark oak, or russet upholstery it feels especially coherent.

How to use it

Use Stage Door in a dining room, study, or hallway where a deeper red can hold its own. It works well with stained timber, painted joinery, and upholstery in warm neutrals, tobacco shades, or muted greens.

On a wall, Stage Door is a deep warm red-brown that feels calm and grounded.

Order it with the cloth

A pot comes off the same order as the fabric, so the wall and the chair in front of it are chosen together. The making is ours: cut, sewn and fitted in our own Heybridge workshop, with Simon over every stage.
