About this colour
This shade has a muted terracotta depth, with enough red in it to feel lively and enough brown to keep it settled. On a wall it absorbs light rather than bouncing it back, so it can make a room feel closer and more enveloping. In north-facing light it will look deeper and browner, with the warmth slightly held back; in south-facing light the red note comes forward and it feels richer and more open. It works well beside oat, tobacco, rust and deep cream tones, and it also gives clean contrast to pale timber and dark-stained woodwork.
How to use it
Use it in a dining room, study or hallway where you want a warm, steady colour with some depth. It sits well with tan leather, walnut woodwork, and upholstery in linen, stripe or checked patterns in clotted cream, moss or old gold.
A warm terracotta brown that feels deeper in north light and richer in south light.
