About this colour

#691B23 is a dark, warm red with brown undertones, so it absorbs a good deal of light and feels close and enveloping on the wall. In north-facing rooms it can look more sombre and berry-toned, with the brown depth coming forward, while in south-facing light it opens a little and shows a richer, warmer red. It works well beside natural oak, dark walnut, brass, and aged leather, and it can also hold its own against cream, putty, and muted olive. On woodwork it gives a strong, traditional edge; in Flat Matt it feels softer and more muted, while Eggshell, Soft Sheen, Floor Paint, and Exterior will show the same colour with a little more surface presence.

How to use it

Use Wilderness Hill in a dining room, study, or hallway where you want a deep, enclosed tone. It suits timber furniture, antique finishes, and upholstery in taupe, camel, moss, or warm neutral shades.
