Yes Chef
Reds and Yellows Paint
Yes Chef is a grounded terracotta red from Coat Paints, sitting between brick, clay and softened russet. It has enough depth to feel settled on a wall, while still bringing warmth to woodwork and fitted joinery.

About this colour
This shade reads as a warm, earthy red with a muted brown base, so it feels more composed than bright. On a wall, #97554D holds light rather than bouncing it back, which gives it a close, intimate quality without going flat or muddy. In a north-facing room it will look deeper and cooler, bringing out more of its brown notes; in south-facing light it softens and warms, with the red becoming clearer. It sits well beside natural oak, walnut and painted joinery in cream, putty or deep green, and it has enough weight to support patterned curtains or upholstery in linen, mohair or wool.
How to use it
Use Yes Chef in a dining room, study or snug where you want the walls to feel enclosed and warm. It works especially well with timber chairs, leather accents and upholstery in stone, olive or tobacco tones, with the paint repeated on skirting or a chimney breast for a strong, finished look.
A warm terracotta red that gives a room depth without feeling harsh.
