Sybil

Pinks and Purples Paint

Sybil is a muted pinkish taupe with a calm, grounded feel. It sits in Coat Paints’ Pinks and Purples range, but reads closer to a warm neutral than a clear pink.

About this colour

This shade has a soft beige-brown base with a blush note running through it, so it feels warm rather than cool. On a wall it lifts light gently without turning pale, which makes it useful where you want colour but not a bright finish. In north-facing light Sybil can look a little deeper and more taupe, while in south-facing rooms the pink warmth comes forward and the colour feels lighter. It sits well beside natural oak, aged brass, cream paint and upholstered pieces in mushroom, clay, dusty rose or deep plum. In Flat Matt and Flat Matt Claypaint it will read quieter and more chalky; in Eggshell, Soft Sheen, Floor Paint or Exterior it keeps the same colour but with a more practical surface.

How to use it

Sybil works well in bedrooms, sitting rooms and dressing spaces where a warm, settled wall colour is wanted. It pairs neatly with painted woodwork in off-white or with upholstery in linen, velvet, tan leather and muted berry tones.

On a wall, Sybil reads as a warm pink-taupe that feels soft and restrained.
