About this fabric

Catalogued as a fabric from Dedar’s Jacquard fabrics collection, Inveraray Ebano has a dense woven face with fine, irregular flecks visible across the dark ground. The brown tone sits close to charcoal black, while slightly lighter threads catch the light and reveal the surface texture. There is no strong contrasting motif in this colourway; its character comes from the subtle movement within the weave. The compact, substantial-looking cloth is particularly suited to tailored upholstery where a dark, understated finish is wanted.

How to use it

Use this near-black brown on a structured armchair, sofa or dining seat, pairing it with warm timber, aged metal and softly contrasting oatmeal or stone textiles. Its restrained tonal texture also works well in a layered, low-contrast room scheme.

A deep near-black brown with a finely textured woven surface, well suited to tailored upholstery and darker schemes.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
