Ichi-go Ichi-e Cobalto

Printed fabrics Fabric001

Ichi-go Ichi-e Cobalto pairs an absorbent warm beige ground with vivid cobalt-blue marks that look brushed, dragged and loosely scattered across the cloth. The contrast gives this colourway a cool, graphic energy while the visible woven texture keeps it tactile.

About this fabric

The irregular blue strokes range from narrow, broken dashes to broad, heavily painted forms, leaving plenty of the sandy beige ground visible between them. Fine horizontal and vertical yarns show through the print, giving the surface a softly coarse, linen-like appearance rather than a flat finish. The cobalt reads as saturated and cool against the warmer neutral background, with distressed edges that reinforce the hand-painted character. No performance features are noted in the supplied specification.

How to use it

Use Cobalto where a room needs a confident blue accent without losing warmth: it would suit a statement chair, loose cushion covers or full-length curtains against natural timber, chalky walls and other quiet neutrals.

Use the warm beige ground and saturated cobalt marks to bring painterly contrast to upholstery, cushions or relaxed curtains.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
