Satin fabrics Fabric139

Tabularasa Noir is a near-black satin with a quietly reflective surface and a fine, even appearance. In the swatch, the deep shade absorbs most of the light while a soft sheen remains visible across the face.

About this fabric

The colour reads as ink black rather than charcoal, giving the cloth a dense, dramatic depth. Its surface appears smooth and finely woven, with a subdued satin catch that becomes more apparent where the swatch curves at the lower edge. The fine, fluid-looking handle visible here makes it best suited to drapery rather than heavy upholstery. No composition, width or performance specification has been supplied for this fabric.

How to use it

Use Tabularasa Noir for full-length curtains where its ink-black tone can create a strong architectural frame around a window. Pair the restrained sheen with matte plaster, pale stone or softly textured upholstery to keep the room from feeling overly glossy.

Its near-black tone and restrained satin sheen suit full-length curtains and other quietly dramatic window treatments.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
