About this fabric

The velvet surface is predominantly charcoal, reading almost black in the deeper areas while softer highlights reveal the texture across the face. Angular, interlocking motifs create a low-contrast pattern that shifts between shadow and muted sheen rather than standing out sharply. This restrained tonal drawing gives the colourway a cool, graphic character with considerable visual depth. As a velvet, it is well suited to upholstery where its dark surface and tactile finish can be appreciated at close range.

How to use it

Use Bacarà Charcoal on a statement armchair, sofa or headboard when you want a room to feel enveloped and atmospheric. Balance its near-black tone with pale stone, warm oak or aged brass so the subtle pattern remains visible.

Pair its near-black charcoal depth with warm timber, brushed metal or softly contrasting neutrals.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
