Dante Taupe

Velvet fabrics Velvet002

Dante Taupe presents as an even, unpatterned velvet in a muted taupe shade, balanced between warm beige and soft grey. Its subtly brushed surface gives the otherwise plain cloth gentle tonal movement as the light shifts.

About this fabric

This Dedar Velvet fabric has a quiet, low-contrast appearance with no visible motif or repeat. The colour reads as a warm taupe overall, while the slightly grey cast keeps it restrained rather than yellow or sandy. A fine vertical nap is visible across the swatch, creating delicate bands of light and shade without disrupting its plain character. The velvet surface gives Dante Taupe a softly luxurious finish suited to upholstery.

How to use it

Use Dante Taupe on an upholstered sofa, armchair or headboard where its warm-grey neutrality can soften darker wood and contrast with crisp ivory, clay or deep brown accents. Its plain, subtly shaded surface also works well when patterned cushions or tactile throws provide the visual interest.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
