About this fabric

The swatch has a saturated soufre-yellow ground, softened by pale golden patches that move irregularly across the surface. Its velvet pile creates a gently brushed, light-catching finish rather than a flat colour, with the tonal variation most noticeable through the centre and upper edge. There is no printed motif; the visual interest comes from the mottled nap and its quietly varied depth. As a velvet textile, it is best considered for upholstery where this plush surface can be seen and handled.

How to use it

Use this warm mustard colourway to bring golden energy to an upholstered armchair, sofa or headboard, especially alongside chalky neutrals, walnut and aged brass. Its softly variegated surface can add depth without introducing a separate pattern.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
