About this fabric

This velvet has a deep Aragosta tone, sitting between burnt orange, brick red and warm terracotta rather than a clear, bright red. Its surface is visibly mottled, with irregular cloudy areas that give the plain ground depth and allow the pile to catch the light unevenly. The close tonal variation keeps the strong colour from appearing flat, while preserving the dense, tactile character expected of velvet. No performance features are noted for this fabric.

How to use it

Use Nuvolari Aragosta on an armchair, sofa or ottoman where its warm rust-terra-cotta tone can act as a confident focal colour. Pair it with aged timber, tobacco leather, warm neutrals or smoky brown shades to echo the darker variations in its mottled pile.

Use this richly coloured velvet to bring warm depth and a softly tactile finish to upholstered seating.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
