Fabrics Fabric62

Mono No Aware Terracotta sets an expressive ivory line drawing against a deep, warm terracotta ground. The close weave gives the colour a subtly tactile, softly grained appearance.

About this fabric

The rusted terracotta base has a muted depth rather than a bright orange cast, giving the design a grounded, enveloping feel. Large, irregular ivory contours travel across the surface in an organic, map-like arrangement, with a small cluster of pale dots adding a delicate point of contrast. The fine, even woven texture remains visible beneath the printed or woven-looking linear motif, gently breaking up the solid colour. This is a graphic colourway with warmth and restraint, suited to interiors that need pattern without a high-contrast palette.

How to use it

Use the warm terracotta ground at a generous curtain scale, pairing it with chalky ivory, timber and soft tan upholstery to echo the pale contour lines without competing with them.

Use this warm terracotta colourway for full-length curtains or relaxed Roman blinds, balancing its ivory linework with natural neutrals.

Pairs well with

A pattern needs somewhere for the eye to rest, so these are the plains and textures that sit beside Mono No Aware Terracotta without fighting it. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
