Rousseau Blue brings an intricate illustrated menagerie to a pale ground, with cobalt, teal and ink-blue foliage framing colourful birds and curling creatures. Fine black outlines give the design a striking, hand-drawn character.

About this fabric

The cool blue colourway combines saturated cobalt and turquoise with deep navy, pale blue-white space and small flashes of coral pink and red. Birds, curling serpentine forms, leaves and branching stems create a densely layered pattern whose large motifs remain clearly visible across the swatch. At 222gsm, the fabric is a versatile mid-weight for upholstery or drapery, with a 137cm usable width. Its 68.5cm vertical repeat and 34.5cm horizontal repeat should be considered when positioning the larger birds and winding branches.

How to use it

Use Rousseau Blue on a statement chair, headboard or full-length curtains where its cool ink tones can anchor a pale room. Echo the teal and coral details with small cushions or painted furniture rather than competing with the densely illustrated pattern.

Use the cool blue ground with pale upholstery, dark timber or brushed metal to let the illustrated birds and curling foliage stand out.
