About this fabric

At 417 gsm, this substantial velvet is well suited to upholstery, with a 134 cm usable width for planning larger applications. The pattern has a 68 cm vertical repeat and a 134 cm horizontal repeat, allowing the tall birds and sweeping foliage to be positioned with care. In this colourway, deep teal is layered with vivid emerald, leaf green, turquoise, orange, yellow and touches of warm red, creating a dramatic jewel-toned surface. The complex birds, serpentine curves and fine botanical details read especially richly against the dark ground.

How to use it

Use the cool, saturated teal as the anchor for a statement armchair, sofa or headboard, then draw out the design’s emerald, turquoise and rust accents with cushions or painted joinery. Warm wood, brass and ochre accessories will soften the dark botanical intensity without competing with the motif.

Use this richly patterned teal velvet on a statement chair, headboard or sofa, with warm timber and jewel-toned accents.

Pairs well with

A pattern needs somewhere for the eye to rest, so these are the plains and textures that sit beside Quetzal Velvet Teal without fighting it. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
