Paradise Lost Velvet Teal

About this fabric
This 286gsm velvet has a substantial handle suited to upholstery, with a 134cm usable width for planning larger cuts. A 63.5cm vertical repeat and 134cm horizontal repeat organise the crowded scene of giraffes, big cats, birds, fish and exotic leaves across the cloth. The teal ground gives the colourway a cool, shadowy depth, while the red, turquoise, pink and yellow animals catch the eye like illuminated details within the darker field. Its low, plush velvet surface adds richness beneath the highly detailed printed imagery.
How to use it
Use the deep teal as the anchoring colour on a statement armchair, ottoman or headboard, then pick out the coral, turquoise or mustard details with smaller cushions and painted accents. Keep surrounding upholstery relatively plain so the full jungle repeat remains legible.
Use this richly patterned teal velvet on a statement chair, headboard or footstool against quieter plain textiles.

Pairs well with
A pattern needs somewhere for the eye to rest, so these are the plains and textures that sit beside Paradise Lost Velvet Teal without fighting it. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it
Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
