About this fabric

This GP & J Baker velvet is woven from 83% cotton and 17% polyester, with a substantial appearance suited to both loose and fixed upholstery. Coral and rose-red flowers provide the strongest colour note, set against dark teal-green leaves and warm ochre foliage for a shaded, autumnal depth. The fabric is 134 cm wide, with a 42 cm vertical pattern repeat and a 67 cm horizontal repeat, giving the large floral design a clear presence across furniture and bedspreads. It is also suitable for curtains; care instructions specify professional dry cleaning only, with no washing, bleaching or ironing.

How to use it

Use the deep green and olive tones as the room’s grounding palette, then pick up the coral blooms through painted wood, cushions or piping. On a chair, headboard or ottoman, the large floral repeat creates a formal focal point without losing the warmth of the ochre foliage.

A richly coloured floral velvet suited to statement upholstery, curtains and coordinated bedspreads.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
