About this fabric

This House of Hackney fabric is catalogued as Velvet, with a richly illustrated botanical design across the full swatch. The bronze ground has a warm, earthy depth, allowing the saturated magenta flower at the centre and the cobalt-blue blooms at the edges to stand out. Ivory petals, small pink and blue blossoms, curling leaves and dark branches create a densely layered, painterly composition. Its dramatic scale and sumptuous colour make it particularly suited to statement upholstery.

How to use it

Pair the bronze-brown ground with deep plum, ink blue and aged brass for a richly atmospheric scheme. Use it on a statement armchair or upholstered headboard, balanced with quieter warm neutrals so the magenta and blue flowers remain the focus.

Use this richly coloured velvet to upholster a statement chair, headboard or sofa in a layered, maximalist room.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
