Lyrical Orchid/Brazilian Rosewood

Colour 2 Fabrics FabricHAF0455-03

Lyrical Orchid/Brazilian Rosewood pairs a muted orchid-pink ground with densely scattered, fine rosewood-coloured marks. The close-set linear motif gives the swatch a softly graphic character while retaining a gentle, powdery feel.

About this fabric

This is a substantial 628gsm fabric with a dense surface of irregular short strokes, creating a tactile, almost hand-drawn texture across the dusty pink-lilac ground. The Brazilian Rosewood marks read as a warm, subdued reddish brown, adding depth without overpowering the cool orchid base. With a 140.7cm usable width and a 34.6cm vertical by 35cm horizontal repeat, the pattern has enough regularity for considered upholstery layouts. A thread count of 66 threads per centimetre further reflects the closely constructed textile.

How to use it

Use the cool, muted orchid tone on a statement chair, headboard or sofa, then echo the warm rosewood markings with walnut, smoked timber or aged brass accents.

Use this weighty orchid-and-rosewood textile to bring softly graphic colour to upholstered seating and occasional pieces.

Pairs well with

A pattern needs somewhere for the eye to rest, so these are the plains and textures that sit beside Lyrical Orchid/Brazilian Rosewood without fighting it. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
