About this fabric

The dark sapphire ground gives this velvet a cool, atmospheric depth, while spinel reds, hot pinks, emerald greens, turquoise and flashes of orange create a highly saturated floral display. Fine leafy stems weave between clustered blooms and decorative bird-like motifs, producing a busy, expressive surface rather than an open repeat. Weighing 416 gsm, this is a substantial velvet well suited to upholstery and statement seating. It has a 135 cm usable width, with a 68.5 cm vertical repeat and 135 cm horizontal repeat; the specified construction is 57.7 threads per cm.

How to use it

Pair the midnight sapphire background with dark timber, burnished brass or warm neutral walls, then pick out the emerald and coral accents in cushions or piping. Its saturated colour and dense repeat make it especially effective on a focal armchair, ottoman or headboard.

Use this deep, jewel-toned velvet to bring theatrical colour and richly layered pattern to a statement chair, sofa or headboard.
