Tectrix Marine is a deep blue-teal woven fabric marked by a delicate, all-over tracery of branching angular lines. The dark linear detail gives the cool marine ground extra depth without interrupting its calm, even surface.

About this fabric

The fabric’s small-scale pattern resembles fine intersecting twigs or a network of slim veins, picked out in darker blue against the marine background. Its cool teal tone shifts subtly across the woven surface, with the raised and recessed threads creating a softly textured, shadowed effect rather than a flat colour. At 430gsm and 90 threads per centimetre, it has a substantial, closely woven presence suited to upholstery applications. Tectrix Marine has a 135cm usable width, a 5.3cm vertical repeat and an 11.3cm horizontal repeat, allowing the fine motif to remain visually continuous across a piece.

How to use it

Use this deep marine teal on a tailored armchair, headboard or sofa, balancing its cool blue depth with charcoal, pale grey or warm walnut. The fine branching pattern works particularly well where a solid-looking upholstery needs subtle visual movement at close range.

Pair the cool marine teal with charcoal, smoked timber and brushed metal for a tailored, contemporary interior.

Pairs well with

Tectrix Marine is a quiet cloth, so it carries a pattern beside it: one of these on the curtains and this on the chair. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
