Moray Cove Coal

Moray Fabric

Moray Cove Coal is a dense, tactile textile with a charcoal-black ground and a finely broken light weave. In the swatch, close-set crossings create a small checked rhythm rather than a printed motif.

About this fabric

The ground reads as deep coal and near-black, broken by irregular white and pale grey threads. Its compact weave forms a small, all-over checked pattern, with short horizontal and vertical crossings creating a lively tweed-like surface. The high contrast keeps this colourway crisp at close range, while the charcoal base gives it visual depth rather than a flat black appearance. No performance features or further technical specifications are supplied for this fabric.

How to use it

Use the cool coal tone on sofas, dining seats or occasional chairs where its small-scale texture can add depth without introducing a bold graphic. Pair it with pale timber, chalky walls or brushed metal to echo the white and grey flecks in the weave.

A dense, high-contrast woven check that brings tactile depth to upholstered seating.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
