Merlon Chalk

Heir Fabric

Merlon Chalk has a pale, chalky ivory ground crossed by a fine, regular grid. Its restrained contrast keeps the small check quietly visible while the woven surface adds gentle texture.

About this fabric

The colour reads as a soft ivory cream rather than a stark white, with faint warm and cool shifts across the close-set checked lines. The small-scale grid is exceptionally even, giving the swatch a neat, architectural rhythm without a bold motif. Subtle surface variation catches the light across the weave, preventing the pale shade from appearing completely flat. No composition, width or performance specification has been supplied for this exact fabric.

How to use it

Use Merlon Chalk where a room needs a light, calm textile with more structure than a plain neutral; its chalky tone works especially well beside oak, limestone, warm white and understated woven accessories.

Use this softly chalky grid as a calm neutral on upholstery, curtains or blinds, pairing it with warm timber and natural textures.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
