Spiral Clay

Spiral Fabric

Spiral Clay has a warm, earthen clay base layered with dense dark flecks and fine, irregular horizontal movement. The close-up surface reads tactile and softly rugged rather than smooth or polished.

About this fabric

This Kirkby Design fabric combines muted terracotta and brown-clay tones with charcoal-black flecks distributed throughout the weave. Short, broken horizontal lines create a subtle striated effect, while the uneven surface gives the colour added depth. The visible dense woven structure makes it best suited to upholstery, where its earthy texture can be appreciated across a larger surface. No composition, width or performance specification has been supplied for this colourway.

How to use it

Use Spiral Clay on a relaxed armchair, sofa or footstool to introduce a warm, grounded note, pairing its clay warmth with aged timber, dark metal and softly contrasting cream textiles.

Its warm clay ground and dark flecked weave bring tactile depth to upholstered seating and occasional furniture.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
