Kirkby Design

Trace Bark

Trace Bark settles into a deep, earthy brown with a charcoal cast, recalling the layered tones of weathered bark. Across the swatch, fine vertical strié and a lightly irregular weave create a quiet, tactile surface.

About this fabric

Trace Bark is shown in a deep bark brown, softened by charcoal-grey tonal variation across the surface. Fine vertical strié lines run through the cloth, with small irregular changes in density that keep the dark shade from reading flat. No performance features are noted for this fabric in the supplied specification.

How to use it

Use this dark bark-brown colourway on an upholstered chair, sofa or headboard where its charcoal cast can add depth without introducing a strong accent colour. Pair it with warm timber, stone and similarly muted earthy tones to echo the swatch’s weathered character.

A deep bark-brown upholstery fabric with charcoal depth and subtle vertical texture.

Pairs well with

Trace Bark is a quiet cloth, so it carries a pattern beside it: one of these on the curtains and this on the chair. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
