About this colour
This shade reads as a warm, muted brown with a clear red undertone, sitting close to espresso but less stark and more settled. In north-facing light it can look darker and more restrained, with the cooler light drawing out its earthy side. In south-facing rooms it feels warmer and richer, holding onto its cocoa tone without becoming orange. It works well beside natural oak, walnut and aged brass, and it gives good contrast to pale linens, mushroom tones and deep green upholstery.
How to use it
Ganache suits studies, dining rooms and snug spaces where you want walls to feel enveloping without looking black. It is also strong on woodwork with cream paint, taupe seating and woven neutrals beside it.
