Nether Red

Neutrals Paint

Nether Red is one of Little Greene’s Neutrals, but it carries more warmth and depth than a pale beige. It is a muted red-brown that settles into a room with an easy, grounded presence.

About this colour

At #92756F, Nether Red reads as a softened earthy neutral, with the red in it held back by a good amount of brown and grey. On a wall it absorbs more light than it reflects, so it feels calm and enveloping rather than bright or airy. In north-facing light it can turn cooler and more subdued, showing more of its taupe and ash notes. In south-facing light the warmth comes forward, making it feel richer, drier, and more definite beside natural wood, leather, or pale linen tones. It sits well with darker timber, aged brass, and upholstered pieces in olive, oatmeal, or warm stone shades.

How to use it

This colour suits sitting rooms, studies, and dining rooms where a quieter, upholstered feel is wanted. It works neatly on woodwork with cream walls, or on walls beside walnut, chestnut, and muted red-toned seating.

Nether Red gives a wall a warm, settled colour without becoming heavy.
