About this colour

This shade reads warm rather than cool, with the #5A5247 value giving it a muted brown base softened by grey. On a wall it absorbs a fair amount of light, so it feels cosy and enclosed rather than bright or airy. In north-facing rooms it can appear deeper and slightly cooler, bringing out the grey in the mix, while in south-facing light the warmth comes forward and the colour looks richer and more earthy. It sits well beside pale stone, cream, aged brass and dark timber, and it gives strong definition to painted woodwork without looking sharp.

How to use it

Attic II suits sitting rooms, studies and snug spaces where a deeper neutral is useful. It works especially well with walnut, oak, linen-toned upholstery and curtains in warm natural shades.

On a wall, Attic II gives a room a calm, grounded depth without reading as black or charcoal.
