Vulcan

This colour reads as a muted charcoal green-grey, with enough green to keep it from feeling flat and enough grey to stop it looking overtly coloured. On a wall it absorbs a fair amount of light, so it feels compact and settled rather than bright or airy. In a north-facing room it can lean cooler and more slate-like, while in south-facing light the green comes forward a little and the colour feels slightly softer. It sits well beside pale linens, natural oak, dark walnut and brushed metal, and it gives good contrast to lighter paintwork and upholstery tones.

Vulcan suits sitting rooms, studies and boot rooms where a deeper, quieter wall colour is useful. It works particularly well with oak joinery, painted woodwork, and upholstery in oatmeal, stone, tobacco or deep green tones.
