Moon Amethysy

Compass Fabric

Moon Amethysy is a subdued amethyst-mauve textile with a cool grey cast. Its close, even weave gives the surface a softly mottled appearance rather than a defined motif.

About this fabric

The colour reads as a muted purple softened with taupe-grey, creating depth without the saturation of a jewel-toned violet. Fine interlaced threads produce a discreet grain across the face, while the matte finish keeps the shade calm and understated. Supplied as a fabric from Mark Alexander’s Compass collection, no performance features are noted in the supplied information. The even, adaptable-looking cloth is suited to upholstery or drapery where a quiet tonal ground is wanted.

How to use it

Pair this cool amethyst-mauve with chalky neutrals, smoked timber and aged metal for a restrained, atmospheric scheme. On upholstery it adds subdued colour; at a window, its greyed purple tone can read especially soft in diffuse light.

Use this cool, muted amethyst-mauve weave to bring quiet depth to seating, cushions or full-length curtains.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
