About this fabric

The patterned surface shows perched birds among large anemone-like blooms, smaller flowers and scrolling leaves, arranged in clearly repeating horizontal bands. Its red-clay ground reads warmer and earthier than a clear scarlet, giving the colourway a deep, settled character while the lighter motifs catch the eye. With a 137 cm usable width, a 52.5 cm vertical repeat and a 23 cm horizontal repeat, the design has enough scale to remain legible across upholstery or curtains. The 230 gsm weight gives it a versatile mid-weight presence for either application.

How to use it

Use this warm red-clay colourway on an occasional chair, bench or full-length curtains where its ochre and olive motifs can sit alongside walnut, antique brass and aged neutrals. Keep surrounding fabrics quieter so the bird-and-flower bands remain the focal point.

Pair the warm red-clay ground with aged timber, ochre accents and muted olive upholstery or trim.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
