Fruit Crimson/Thyme

Morris and Friends Volume II Fabrics FabricMOF0035-04

Fruit Crimson/Thyme sets a dense scrolling botanical pattern against a deep, warm crimson ground. Muted thyme leaves and ochre fruit-like forms create a layered, quietly dramatic colourway with a softly textured textile surface.

About this fabric

The design is filled with curling stems, pointed leaves and rounded botanical forms, picked out in thyme green, olive and subdued yellow against the saturated crimson background. Its 326 gsm weight and 97 threads per centimetre give the cloth a substantial, closely made feel, while the fine surface texture gently softens the contrast between the colours. The 73 cm vertical repeat and 68 cm horizontal repeat allow the pattern to read as a continuous all-over field rather than isolated motifs. With a 138 cm usable width and a standard length of 50 m, it is suited to coordinated upholstery and drapery applications.

How to use it

Pair this deep crimson colourway with walnut, aged brass and warm neutral upholstery for a richly traditional room, or use it as curtains against soft plaster tones to let the thyme foliage stand out. Olive paint, ochre accents and natural linen will pick up the quieter colours in the pattern without competing with its depth.

Use the warm crimson ground to bring depth to upholstery or full-length curtains, balancing it with olive, aged yellow and natural timber.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
