Morris and Friends Volume II Fabrics FabricMOF0035-03

Fruit Black/Claret places dense branches, leaves and rounded fruit across an almost black ground. Olive foliage and muted ochre shapes stand out clearly, while small claret accents add restrained warmth.

About this fabric

At 326gsm, this is a substantial fabric with a 138cm usable width. The black ground reads almost ink-dark in the photograph, giving the olive leaves and muted ochre fruit strong definition; small claret details warm the repeat without brightening it. The pattern repeats every 73cm vertically and 68cm horizontally, so the clustered branches form a continuous, close-set field rather than isolated motifs. The supplied specification records 97 threads per cm, complementing the finely detailed appearance visible across the surface.

How to use it

Use this colourway on a statement armchair, dining seat or upholstered headboard where its inky depth can frame a room. Pair the black ground with aged timber, olive-painted details and warm brass or ochre accessories to draw out the quieter colours in the fruit and foliage.

A substantial dark botanical upholstery fabric, balancing an inky ground with olive leaves and muted ochre fruit.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
