Babylon Onyx

Misc Fabric

Babylon Onyx has a dark, graphic presence, with the pattern reading as a woven lattice of elongated oval forms across a black ground. The pale metallic fleck lifts the surface just enough to catch the light without softening its strong contrast.

About this fabric

This fabric is supplied at 140cm wide with a 24cm pattern repeat, and it is woven in 95% polyester and 5% lurex. The finish in this colourway is predominantly deep black, crossed by fine pale threads that give the design a slightly smoky, glinting edge. The repeated motif feels crisp and architectural, while the lurex adds a restrained shimmer rather than a bright shine. It is a strong choice where you want pattern depth and a darker, more tailored look.

How to use it

Babylon Onyx works well on tailored upholstery pieces, especially where the black ground can anchor a scheme. Pair it with walnut, aged brass, and warm neutrals to pick up the subtle metallic highlights.

Use with warm woods and brass to let the subtle metallic thread lift the dark ground.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
