About this fabric

This Porter & Stone velvet is made from 100% polyester and has a 140cm width with a 0cm pattern repeat, making it a straightforward plain cloth to plan and cut. The swatch shows a very dark midnight tone, almost black, with faint charcoal and blue undertones that lift on the nap. Its dense velvet pile gives the colour a plush, light-catching depth that feels more refined than harsh. With no performance features noted, it is best chosen for projects where the rich look of the surface is the priority.

How to use it

Use this shade on a curved armchair, bench seat or ottoman to create a strong anchor against pale walls or warm timber. It also works well in a moody room with brass, smoked glass or deep green accents, where the black velvet reads luxurious and cocooning.

Use it for tailored seating or dramatic accents where the dark pile can catch the light.
