Elephant Noir

Serengeti Fabric

Elephant Noir pairs a near-black ground with a softly metallic elephant motif that reads bold and atmospheric in the swatch. The print feels graphic but slightly worn, giving the design a moody, luxurious edge.

About this fabric

This fabric is from the Serengeti collection by Porter & Stone and is made from 50% Polyester 50% Viscose, with a width of 140cm and a 44cm pattern repeat. In this colourway, the elephants sit against a deep black background, while the motif catches the light in a muted gold tone that is more restrained than bright. The drawn texture of the elephants gives the surface a layered, tactile look, and the contrast keeps the pattern clearly visible without feeling sharp. It has a rich, dramatic presence that works well when you want the design detail to emerge slowly rather than dominate a room at first glance.

How to use it

Use Elephant Noir where you want a dark, grounded palette with a luxurious accent, such as an upholstered accent chair, cushion panels, or elegant curtains. It pairs well with smoked wood, brass, and warm neutrals that echo the gold-toned outline in the print.

Use it as a statement on an occasional chair or dramatic curtains for a rich, low-lit finish.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
