Holcombe Noir

Other Fabrics & Weaves Fabric

Holcombe Noir is a richly patterned fabric set on a dark, near-black ground, with the motif lifting in soft sage, warm beige and pale grey. The repeated botanical design feels crisp against the depth of the background, giving the colourway a moody but legible finish.

About this fabric

Woven in 100% polyester, Holcombe Noir has a decorative look with enough structure to suit both upholstery and drapery use. The 145cm width and 36.5cm pattern repeat make the repeating floral scrolls and stylised blooms easy to plan across larger pieces. In this colourway, the black ground intensifies the contrast, while the muted sage and stone tones soften the pattern so it reads elegant rather than heavy. The overall effect is formal and historic in character, with a dry, tailored surface appearance visible in the swatch image.

How to use it

Use Holcombe Noir on an accent chair, ottoman or curtains where the dark ground can bring depth without losing the fine floral detail. It works especially well with antique wood, smoked metal and pale neutral walls to balance the pattern's richness.

Pair with aged brass and pale timber to let the dark ground and muted floral detail stand out.

Pairs well with

A pattern needs somewhere for the eye to rest, so these are the plains and textures that sit beside Holcombe Noir without fighting it. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
